Social Media and the Quality of News and Information

Ever since social media has become a big hit, the quality of news and information has increased dramatically.  Not only can news stations post the latest news on their online websites, but also to their companies or personal Twitter and Facebook pages, this can make getting the latest news so much easier. For example, if someone doesn’t have time to sit down and watch the news on TV or read the newspaper, they can go online on either their computer, or smartphones to read up on what’s going on around their area, or even around the world.

Not only has social media increased the quality of news and information, it has increased how fast word can travel. If breaking news happens half way around the world in seconds it can be on TV or online here for people to hear or read about.

I believe that the information the news shares, and how they share it has increased for the better, thanks to social media.
